Waves of thought flood the mind and recede without a trace of their visit. This journal is my attempt to capture a few of those waves which reach the shore. The entries symbolize my moments of victory in the battle against my strongest foe--Inertia

Unafraid of the erratic drivers,
Unashamed of her state of existence.
Unrelenting in her fight against poverty,
She moves swiftly at the traffic signal,
Finding a crevice between the line of cars,
She sells her stuffed toys with a flourish,
Her marketing genius persuading even the most stubborn,
A blanket of confidence hiding her torn clothes,
Mental strength overshadowing her emaciated face,
All of three feet, yet dwarfing the mountain of problems,
She stands tall amidst us all!

Aping his tongue,mouthing his words,
Enacting his plays,
Intrigued by his style of writing,
Perceiving him larger than life.
Personifiying english classes through school. Today it seems so surreal,
Treading the pathways he tread,
learning more about his life,
visiting the home of the man,
who now only dwells
in the minds of english enthusiasts across the globe.

An Illusion
The tranquil seas also cause the tsunami,
The pleasant breeze,also the hurricane,
The sacred fire,also mass destruction,
The savior rain, also the dreadful floods,
Nature says "There is no such place as safe!"
Majestic structures reduced to dust overnigtht,
Explosions wiping out cities,
Giants of the industry now insolvent,
The invincible accept defeat.
Man echoes the sentiment.
Despite all this,
I dwell in my zone of comfort,
Clinging on to monotony, interpreting it as safety.
Unwilling to risk my imaginary stability..
It is time for me to be jolted out of it!

Across the border...

I stand at the border, wondering whether to cross over,
The wild fire spreading relentlessly, destroying all in its path.
I could predict neither its fury, nor its next victim,
The winds guiding the fire, as inept at decision making.
My mind imposing its logic, my senses their perception,
the battle was fierce, neither willing to converge to a decision.
A few pertinent questions..
Would it not be easier to escape the fire in a city, I knew well enough to navigate?
Is it not human to assume the grass across to be greener without evidence?
Is there any indication of the new land being more secure?
Is it not a coward's act to run away from problems?
Despite the lingering doubt of whether I was being brave or foolhardy,
The questions cleared my perception and I mustered the courage to stay on.
At sunrise: Brimming with energy, backed by the sunshine ,
At sunset: Needs to be gaurded against the shadow of doubt,
The decision

We shall overcome !
Injured bodies and wounded minds,
Damaged buildings alongside blood stained roads,
Buried men and with them buried aspirations,
Air poisoned with fear and pain,
A handful of heartless murderers inflict,
A country full of citizens suffer.
What do the perpetrators desire
To rule over a land of corpses?
It takes..
A match to start a fire, an army to put it out,
A day to destroy, a year to rebuild,
A few terrorists to cause havoc, All of us to restore sanity.

pessimism floods your life,
every obstancle appears insurmountable,
every path leads to a dead end,
every disease appears incurable,
every foe invincible,
virtues seem non existent,
an opaque wall surrounds you blocking every ray of hope.
During these times of despair,if you are
weak enough to be overwhelmed by the pathogens of negativity,
and strong enough to indulge in self destruction,
A moment of insanity could wipe out life,
leaving the rest of the world to battle the pertinent question
"What caused this abrupt end ?"
Footnote: This is an attempt to imagine why people commit suicide.

A sign of weakness,
A feminine trait,
Synonymous with helplessness,
An extreme reaction to a situation,
Just a manifestation of emotion,
A way to raise TRPs,
Your opinion may be any of the above,
but you must agree ,
We are a rather imaginitive race,
Attributing so may qualities to lifeless droplets of water...
The tear flows down the cheek, oblivious to these perceptions,
And yet,we cling on to our perceptions,
unwilling to accomodate another's view.
