Waves of thought flood the mind and recede without a trace of their visit. This journal is my attempt to capture a few of those waves which reach the shore. The entries symbolize my moments of victory in the battle against my strongest foe--Inertia

pessimism floods your life,
every obstancle appears insurmountable,
every path leads to a dead end,
every disease appears incurable,
every foe invincible,
virtues seem non existent,
an opaque wall surrounds you blocking every ray of hope.
During these times of despair,if you are
weak enough to be overwhelmed by the pathogens of negativity,
and strong enough to indulge in self destruction,
A moment of insanity could wipe out life,
leaving the rest of the world to battle the pertinent question
"What caused this abrupt end ?"
Footnote: This is an attempt to imagine why people commit suicide.

A sign of weakness,
A feminine trait,
Synonymous with helplessness,
An extreme reaction to a situation,
Just a manifestation of emotion,
A way to raise TRPs,
Your opinion may be any of the above,
but you must agree ,
We are a rather imaginitive race,
Attributing so may qualities to lifeless droplets of water...
The tear flows down the cheek, oblivious to these perceptions,
And yet,we cling on to our perceptions,
unwilling to accomodate another's view.

Each participant a stream,
Meandering around the many experiences,
Unfolding the story as it glides,
Springing new ideas and thoughts on its way,
Eroding assumptions and changing opinions,
The path of each stream so different, their journeys unique,
Each stream adds on to the river,
Each river to the sea of life,
Enriching it forever, as the donor stream flows unaware of its impact.
Part of our lives for a few hours,
blending their stream of experiences into our lives - The Stranger

This way and that, the pendulum swings,
Friction brings it to a halt, forcing a decison.
My mind wanders registering a million options,
Resisting any force attempting to narrow its scope,
An eternal desire to change direction,
Will this thirst be quenched by switching paths?
Or is it just ennui and curiosity nudging it to seek the unknown?
Like a linguistically challenged child, unable to convey her thoughts,
My restless mind struggles,
And I continue to toil in my quest to satisfy it,by a tedious process of elimination.

Sands of time
Ruthless vehicles pumping smoke into my lungs,
A multitude of thoughts fighting for attention,
A persistent nagging reminder of the unfinished work,
Tired limbs protesting their confinement,
My restless spirit defeating my patience,
I gazed at the stationary line of vehicles, wishing I could move them,
I felt my time slipping away and wished I could hold onto it.
As I gazed skyward feeling helpless, the beautiful skies diverted my attention.
The rays of sunlight filtering through the canopy of clouds,
The clouds majestic with their golden lining,
The sun, keeping me engaged in a game of hide and seek.
My admiration swiftly toppled the regime erected by the army of negative emotions.
Maybe life isn’t about crying over our inability to fly to our destination,
Maybe it is about enjoying the walk up that road.

The Paradox
Not controlled or governed by any authority,
Has the power to change the universe,
But cannot be forced into productivity.

The mirage ...
No car horns,no traffic jams,no crowded roads,
Fresh water flowing through to the fields,
Cattle and Human beings co-existing in harmony,
A fresh new environment which seemed so peaceful.
This is how my senses perceived the village,
But the surface does not reflect what is concealed within,
Fields waiting to be harvested,
Owners willing to hike wages,
And yet laziness invades workers' lives and stalls progress.
Untouchability is officially abolished and extinct
And yet it subtly creeps into everyday life..
I guess any place is just as good as we think it to be...
