Melting barriers

Colours splashed across the canvass,
Neither tutored nor laboured,
But a spontaneous outpour of creativity,
Bold strokes, oblivious to conventional wisdom,
Powered by personal conviction.
The beauty lies not in the richness of the paint,
but in the thought that etches out the patterns,

United by their aspiration to win,
Children, some priviledged and others not,
Toil away, brimming with enthusiasm,
The disparity is forgotten,
Opportunity plays leveler!

If every citizen had a chance,
To make strides driven by free thought,
Neither burdened by the baggage of legacy,
Nor hampered by the lack of access,
Reality would be no different from our dreams!

Very well etched poem and have to agree with you! Lets hope 'we' as a society reach where you are dreaming of..Lets hope someday we can do justice to the aspirations of all the children irrespective of their background...

But its quite funny...Opportunities can play leveler only the first time..Because what we make out of the opportunity varies and how we use it varies - bringing back the disparity...The next generation will never have Opportunity playing leveler again!

Further, I am what I am because of my past and i will be 'someone' because of what i do now despite the past..That adds an angle to my story which will be like no other...And that will be 'my' story! Some of our generation's best stories would be lost without this distinctiveness..:)
